Oh, most definitely. Maybe even lighter than main Gnome 2. Aesthetics aren't much an issue either. At least the Mate aesthetics work for me.

Honestly, it's nice. Not macosx but mint mate is really good. And functional, stable. Faaast. Just try a usb boot with the last mint

Yup, me too, day it was introduced. I only occasionally use it when I need to read reams of text, due to the crispness issue on Mate.

lol, naw, I'm sure it's b/c I spliced Mate on my Ubuntu before it was in repos & can't find a way to get it to work as intended on Mint.

Thing abt Linux: it's so tempting to tweak stuff instead of ever formatting, that you can port your setup for ages. I'll let you code nao :p
