Not too crazy about Prey. Makes for entertaining watching but feels less tangible than Arkane/Bethesda standard farehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdcYPK8YPSo&list=PLuzGD5C-DjX-Q1-dQ23klhh4jUMSUiF9Q …

The original Prey was a pretty awesome Native American themed b-movie FPS with franchise potentialhttps://youtu.be/ocp8jc50u1c
-
Loved the crap out of the potential hinted in the Prey 2 trailer, veering from the premise but retaining some stylehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a78kzAffb4 …

Much as I love Arkane for their work in Dishonored, the new game retained nothing of the original, remixing Bioshock/Half-Life influences
-
I'm not sure I like the Dishonored aesthetic ported into scifi, at least not in this incarnation. Alien: Isolation did better in this theme
-
Prey also doesn't feel like a "System Shock 2 reboot" in any meaningful way. Wonder whatever gave that idea to some content creators
-
Having said all that, I'll keep watching playthroughs & will prolly play this new Prey some day. But it's not engaging in any innovative way
-
Prey 2 still looks like a missed opportunity, by 2011 stds. Bethesda should've let Human Head Studios finish the job https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctAEu0ypMMU …
-
What's even more puzzling is that Arkane had the (Dishonored) chops to actually put together the bounty hunter action game Human Head demo'd
-
It is what it is, I guess. Arguably, Prey's Mimics are among the sneakiest monsters in videogames (lifted straight from their D&D namesakes)
