It's a lovely sunny day, despite it all. And I have to get my Macbook to the shop, to save the kbd from spilt cola. See you on the flipside.
Dunno if miniaturization made it impossible to clean kbd membranes (besides throwaway mentality). In the 80-90s, we could clean them easily

Got 2 good j-yrs out of this MBP, bet it has at least 3x that more to give. Nary a scratch otherwise, ofc I had to DEX botch cola onto it
-
Judging by the MBP & my iPhone SE (both excellent), Apple makes sturdy devices, but I always worry I'll have to ditch instead of fixing them

touché ;) I still bet the
@RestartProject can do better w Macbooks in need of repairs -
Would suggest checking
@iFixit for disassembly/guide. Not sure what model you have? -
obrigado,
@G_a_l_i_l_e_o directed me there as well. That's the one https://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook_Pro_13%22_Retina_Display_Mid_2014 … haven't tinkered in a long while -
Replacing the top case sounds difficult. However, the part can be found on eBay cheaper than new...
-
I think/hope I'll only have to replace the kbd+touchpad membranes & the battery, at worst. Otherwise works, just a cola soak
