Then again, seeing a pattern on games steeply discounted recently, like #CoH2: in-game microtransactions (and apparently balancing issues)

To be fair, I got plenty of Xmas mileage out of the steep Deus Ex 4 discount, but tac games like Homeworld & CoH2 require time expenditure
-
But I avoided the most problematic DX4 issues by not pre-ordering; I knowingly waited for a discount (which gladly got me the story DLC too)
-
By comparison, Dishonored 2 surfed the criticism, managing to retain a high retail price even in discounts; gorgeous game, but issues remain
-
Arguably, Witcher 3 is the most well behaved triple-A blockbuster in recent yrs: free cosmetics, substantial story DLC, reasonable pricing.
-
Too bad I don't have time to sink time into yet another expansive RPG setting. I blame Bethesda for that, gotta finish their games first.

Excited about
#MEAndromeda as any other Shep, but given how stingy EA still is about releasing ME2, I've no hope of playing it any time soon -
For now, back to
#SunlessSea. I've got fabled Irem and the Khanate to discover, a rivalry w the Pirate-Poet to pursue, and a kid to raise...pic.twitter.com/48BKfB34ii

Finally, Irem. And likely the only place in the Neath that richly replenishes supplies. (And I beat the Pirate-Poet again.) What a journey.pic.twitter.com/sC3beY0xNZ

I knew those guys would save my life one day; fuel & respite from terror (99), a stone's throw from home. Respect the lighthouse
