I'd still want to set foot on Mars one day https://twitter.com/xeni/status/803618531912749056 … compelled by decades of scifi mental/visual imagery (serious/hard or not)
arguably, there's a fair amount of filler & one novel is below avg, but nothing is extraneous. Solid sociopolitical scifi

yeah. I don't mind filler. People always make that complaint with GRRM too and I'm like "what's the rush....world building"
-
oh, quite. The world building here is exceptional, on par w some of the more critically acclaimed reads, w.o much technobabble
-
also appreciate the fairly accurate and aware portrayal of displacement....
-
definitely, the authors are very aware of diversity/displacement issues, see here for example http://www.blastr.com/2016-4-14/exclusive-expanses-ty-franck-daniel-abraham-reveal-major-cast-addition-season-2 …

the novellas they've done on background are good to if you haven't done those. The "MLN Hanover" thing Abrams did tho.. terrible.
-
I intend to get through the novellas too, while waiting for volume 6. Reading other stuff too but its currently my main series
