The Expanse ep 8 is just astonishing. The series diverges from the book on plot/chars, but it's amazing how it pulls scenes right out of it.
More importantly, the scenes/chars created for the series breathe the same life & authenticity that book ones do. An excellent retelling.

The action is suspenseful, pitch perfect & realistic, even if compacted. Glances and body language communicate a lot in this series.

Afaic, The Expanse isn't just the best scifi TV right now, it's best TV, period. (Straight A's for #8 from AV Club & IGN, who seem to agree)
-
(Correction, AVC readers gave it a straight A, good enough for me. Mr. Robot was the best series overall last year, here's some competition)

Btw, I'm on a slow burn quarterway through Caliban's War, but if it's anything like Leviathan Wakes, I bet I'll be accelerating soon enough.
