The ranks of volunteers are replenished often, as many burn out quickly & can't afford long stays, but knowhow transference is inadequate.

In the space of a few days' stay at Molyvos, I saw almost the entire contingent renewed. Ranks had swollen to 20+ but veterans were worn out

Donations from abroad are thankfully burgeoning, but as summer is ending, volunteers' numbers will inevitably drop & so will their capacity.

If you have practical skills & can afford the time/cost to head to Lesvos to help, the experience will be rewarding & make a difference.

Hosting refugees at the carpark, instead of at a functional, disused summer camp nearby, is a prejudiced blunder of Monty Python proportions

Refugees linger at sordid conditions in plain sight of tourists and even that solution is unsustainable, as the nearby school will soon open
