Ex Machina's srsly one of those movies you can kick back to & forget the world for a while. Worked for me yesterday. Now to find one today

Ex Machina plays on pop premise that Google would prolly be closer to creating strong AI (ofc they're researching) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_Artificial_Intelligence_Lab …
-
In closing, hard to overstate how effective cinematography & soundtrack is in immersion. I could name plenty of flicks that missed that beat

@asteris Try "The Chaser"... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190539/ …

@asteris and it's very well researched. One of the few AI movies i've enjoyed as somebody working in AI. -
@BerndPorr that it is. 'Not quite hard SF' comment was about presentation, not substance. Wish they'd ironed out some plot holes, though. -
@asteris agreed. The script could have undergone more iterations and i'd loved to have a smarter ending than the stereotypical ending. -
@BerndPorr yup, I guess some extent of cookie-cutterism is required to budget scifi for box office. Still a good compromise overall.
