Endcap for now, and my 2c: it's better to unfollow than to mute; you'll eventually remember to follow back, Twitter's mute is an oubliette.
Recap for now: been noticing whole stories going unremarked, moreso than usual. I don't blame summer, or football, I blame Twitter's mute.

@asteris That's a good point. Is there a list of those you mute somewhere? -
@astroehlein not to my knowledge. All these yrs, Twitter was a self-correcting society over follows, but likely won't be with native mutes. -
@asteris Maybe access to a list like that would be the answer - or a step towards it? -
@astroehlein maybe, but I suspect not. Twitter isn't geared for architecting news-friendly features, it's infotainment/celeb culture bound. -
@asteris I'm sure you're right... So have we all just been using the wrong tool for the job all these years? -
@astroehlein it was badly coded from the start, as has been readily apparent, but decision to milk infotainment was strategic & more recent.
