Linking drone kills & torture to specific officials & prosecuting them, like Italy & now Pakistan did, is the only way to seek some justice

We all want to get closure/justice on historic CIA crimes, like coups & death squads post-70s, but drone kills & torture are happening today
-
The Obama admin has signaled its' intent to shield agents from prosecution (Nurnberg defense), but also refuses to offer political apology

@adambanksdotcom people in Yemen/Pakistan certainly are aware of drones, Euro left mostly focuses on coups; UK has more focused activism -
@asteris I’m thinking of general public perception. Say “CIA” in a TV show, it means “Dangerous foreign bad guys who will lie and kill you.” -
@adambanksdotcom that and the movie awe; but eg. in Greek perception, CIA is very much tied to colonels' coup & the invasion of Cyprus -
@asteris Right, that’s a history lesson for me :) -
@adambanksdotcom official version "timing of the coup apparently caught the CIA by surprise" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_military_junta_of_1967%E2%80%9374 … but Clinton apologized

@sheilabenson they're probably still in the coup biz, given that it's trending again, but torture & dronekills of innocents is documentable -
@asteris .... hmmmm ..... trying to give themselves a human face by joining twitter may backfire ..... -
@sheilabenson that's the entire point, beyond trolling: demanding accountability, and eventually, justice. Pointing out the PR incongruences -
@asteris ..... agreed.
