And, btw, #antifa is just a short-hand for anti-fascists of every persuasion, afaic. I don't accept exclusive branding on these things.
@risinggalaxy I respect the history, but right now, we can't afford to exclude anti-fascists
-
-
@asteris its not a matter of exclusion rather a matter of the left seing antifascism as voter trap, thus rendering antifascim useless -
@risinggalaxy that's maximalism; anti-fascism is largely integral to the left, regardless of politicking tactics -
@asteris yes ok,but:the matter is very serious making tactics and strategic direction the most important point."Antifa"is also a strategy :P -
@risinggalaxy strategic direction is about right. Outreach to society at large should be the main focus, delegitimizing them where it counts -
@asteris@risinggalaxy How more to delegitimize them? It's public knowledge they're thugs/quasi-mobsters, yet they haven't been marginalized -
@hchrono good q: that's where community work comes in, can't expect mainstream media to educate people about social justice now, can you? -
@asteris Indeed. Remains mindblowing that anyone who's ever opened a history book could imagine supporting swastika-bearers. -
.
@hchrono especially in countries that paid the heaviest price to nazi atrocities: like, for instance, Russia and Greece
