Brazil's Constitution is turning 25 today as police still torturing people like they used to during military dictatorship.
@KetyDC I sympathize; ours (post-junta one, 1st one was 1843) turned 38 last June, and police still tortures people here as well

@KetyDC was about to add that, thankfully MPs stopped policing (and torturing) after the junta here. Different, but systemic impunity still -
@asteris We fear the police as much as the criminals because sometimes they are the same. As long this doesn't change, Brazil wont progress. -
@KetyDC basically, that's how it is in Athens for immigrants right now. People think it won't affect them, but ofc it always metastasizes
