I never get why people RT trolls, it's practically the opposite of "don't feed". Feels esp jarring to see ppl I respect RT ppl trolling them
@curtiskj rape threats constitute a crime in many jurisdictions (also, there's a report form https://support.twitter.com/forms/abusiveuser …)

@asteris But not across borders. What is the liklihood of getting criminal action for tweets coming from boom-boom land? Absolutely none. -
@curtiskj I'm aware of the general complications in such cases (ever since IRC days), but isn't Twitter responding to reports via the form? -
@asteris The recent controversy in the UK would suggest otherwise. -
@curtiskj wouldn't it be more effective to make them pay qualitative attention to reports via the form, instead of becoming more like FB? -
@asteris Maybe, but I think the scale of the platform makes that increasingly difficult. As you noted, it can easily be abused. -
@curtiskj spam can be algorithmically culled (Twitter sucks at that), troll rpts need human adjudicators; I realize costs attached but still -
@asteris Problem is I think Twitter does often use humans. But that slows the process way down and can still lead to errors. -
@curtiskj isn't that the problem with justice in general? I still wonder why the hell Twitter isn't using FF ratio etc. as report qualifiers - 4 more replies
