Well, that worked. Why Linux was ok for yrs with nvidia-173 & suddenly decided to divorce it, and break X, is beyond me. Whatevs.
.@teacherdude I'm all for "ATI & Nvidia FU both", but truth is, Linux GPU driver UI is atrocious wrt to both, whatever their failings

@asteris GPU drivers are indeed atrocious because devs cannot get their hands on the chip specs and have to reverse engineer@teacherdude -

@Pexlibanis I'm not talking about the drivers themselves, I'm talking about the UI. The process of fixing it from console, if need be -
