Next, to batch-convert NEFs (Nikon RAW files) to jpg. Raw is overrated for most shots, 70% of adequately lit ones don't really need it
@mkhalili btw, that's the plan, not resolved on what tool & settings to use. Any advice more than welcome

@asteris What post processing software are you using? If it’s Lightroom really straightforward to convert. As for settings, LR’s standard > -
@mkhalili I've still to get to grips with using Lightroom for my quotidian needs, but I'll use it to batch convert if it does the job -
@asteris NEF to Adobe DNG will save you some space and you get to keep the headroom if you want it. -
@mkhalili interesting; but I've never worked with DNG before, and it's not viewable everywhere. Looking for jpg + some 'headroom' settings -
@asteris True re DNG. Not aware of those kinds of settings in LR tbh.

@asteris > ’conversion’ (first time you import RAWs) is a pretty good yardstick, if a little fussy on the shadows. -
@mkhalili you mean LR picks optimal conversion settings from raw to jpg w.o bothering you. Is that a good thing? -
@asteris Not for standard use (I switched it off) but if you wanna batch convert could be an option. “Apply auto tone adjustments” in prefs
