@asteris GRML http://grml.org/ and RIP (Recovery Is Possible) are the best recovery distros IMHO. Use GRML only if you like zsh.

@ChPietsch appreciated! I'd rather stick to Ubuntu-ish distros, though GRML is more current. I'm guessing you've used them -
@asteris GRML is Debian-based, so it counts as Ubuntu-ish. Try it, zsh will not eat you. -
@ChPietsch lol, touche. I started out with Debian in '98-99, btw. Loved unstable to bits, but Ubuntu won me over :) -
@asteris I just switched back to Debian and LMDE. Could not stand the shopping lens and Shuttleworth's intransigent remarks about it. -
.
@ChPietsch truth be told, I've been looking to switch away from Ubuntu for a while now. Gutting Gnome in favor of Unity did it in for me - 1 more reply

@asteris Many distros on a USB stick = Best - use Yumi. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ … -
.
@WarOnPrivacy thanks, that was the idea. I'm thinking Hiren + Tails + Ubuntu on a single USB, but haven't settled on a recovery distro yet

@asteris I'd say any Knoppix version, not sure it can go on a stick, but certainly CD/DVD. IT guys at the office used it.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
