For now, yes. One has to be vigilant. We're in the tropics but I keep looking nervously up at the hills surrounding Kingston, half-expecting bushfires. It is unusually hot and we're in a drought... So sad but with climate change maybe we will have to get used to it..
I know exactly what you mean, Greece's climate is getting increasingly sub-tropical, even though the vegetation remains Mediterranean. Hopefully Jamaica has better preparedness mechanism in place, as well as civic awareness.

I'm just listening to the presser here, they're basically saying they did their best & what happened was unavoidable. With a vague evacuation plan that noone can precisely timestamp, or tell if it was followed through.
