My God, that was brilliant, epic, heart-wrenching and glorious. Season 3 of #TheExpanse was one of the finest scifi adaptations in a serialized TV format. Yes, it was abbreviated/accelerated, and chars spliced, but the essence of the books is there.https://twitter.com/ExpanseSYFY/status/1012161411936444416 …

"We're on the brink right now because we keep reacting to things we don't understand. We're scared, we're hurt & we keep reaching for violence because we can't figure out what to do. But just this once, can't we try something else?" Humanity's eternal quandary when facing crisis.

Good set design work blends into the background, and rendering the Behemoth's interior spaces was a momentous task to accomplish, CGI and props alike. The colossal ship was pretty much like I pictured it when reading the books, esp. when the Belters made it their flagship.

Clinton Shorter has long been one of my favorite composers, and his work on The Expanse was always superb, but he surpassed himself this season. Pure awe & goosebumps, esp. in this scenehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdS9iq9-Kps …

All the actors inhabited their roles with passion & conviction, but Cara Gee & David Strathairn chewed the scenery with legendary badassery every time they showed up. In a show full of heart, Elizabeth Mitchell somehow managed to personify the strength of imperfect human love.

I'm relieved that The Expanse was picked up by Amazon, though it's awkward to think of Bezos as a patron of the messages it conveys. Who knows, maybe he'll learn something in the process. Guess I'll play a hell of a lot of Stellaris to compensate for the sense of wonder until s4.
