I'll grant that #SlayTheSpire, latest early access meta & livestreamer fave game is pretty engrossing; got it on last minute sale & the hrs flew like seconds https://twitter.com/Christopher_Odd/status/1014264603138764800 … but its roguelike nature breaks my hoarding stride, and I'm not too thrilled about the design

Out of curiosity, what would you change about the design?

I started out w Magic: The Gathering, pretty picky w card art per se, but it's not a priority. First off, I'd fix UX/QC issues (eg. discard/draw/upgrade popups obfuscating card cost). Overall look/feel is more "scrappy" than Hearthstone (which is a bit baroque), maybe jazz it up.

I'm not saying the design is unpleasant overall, goes for a somewhat Arabian Nights feel, but it could be improved/made more "tactile," even while remaining scrappy at heart. Think maybe Halcyon 6? I could think of more examples & specific issues.

I've a question for you: given that losing is inevitable, doesn't it bother you to have to start deckbuilding all over again every time? Being a hoarder/mimaxer, it goes against my grain, esp. in a card game (but see also Dead Cells)

PS: Thanks to your 30/30 run, besides Slay the Spire, I also bought Invisible Inc., on the Steam sale; they should probably give you referral options. As always, keep up the good work and thanks for the daily insights, esp. on indie games :)
