That was a given, whatever the outcome of the deal was to be. Only way Tsipras won’t get any ‘backlash’ at this point is if he hands elections to Mitsotakishttps://twitter.com/reuters/status/1006931014277582848 …

Not to say that Tsipras doesn’t deserve a crapton of real backlash for his austerity policies, but this is political theater. Also, Mitsotakis is colluding in diverting attention from the latest austerity measures.

Also, this has no bearing on whether the deal reached can be objectively assessed as good or not. No deal can be, in this climate of ‘patrioteering.’

This was the icing on the cake. He should have been gone long time ago. He won re-election in the belief that he wouldn't do austerity anymore and walk away from EU. Instead he made an even worse deal.

There’s no other prospect for “a deal,” Mitsotakis is obviously content on passing the buck and engaging in histrionics from the back benches. But he won’t be able to do the same w austerity.

I am so done with the politics of Nepotism. Greece is plagued with this disease. I am done with it in Canada too... it's no longer democracy.

Yeah, one would have expected Canada at least to have done away with nepotism. But no country is immune, it appears (though it can be kept at bay.)

Hunger for power feeds the trolls. These idiots running countries or being leaders of political parties only care about their personal interests not leading a people or country. Lost art of being a civil servant.

Frankly, though, upholding the ethics of public service starts with citizens. We’ve a deep & biting deficit on that front in Greece.

yes you can't expect change all while cheating your actual neighbour, who can easily be your cousin, brother, friend. But the system allows that poor behaviour... no one is held accountable. The fear of being the Malaka who does things right/properly.

I’m the end, we are the system, and we can individually and collectively choose to oppose or reform it. Thankfully, I’be known Greeks committed against this mentality, otherwise living here would’ve been unbearable.

Then Mitsotakis will strike a deal on the name FYROM-ND or FYROM-KM
