@Gomba13 @BillyMcWhirter But the home schooling option merely encourages anti-intellectual, anti-social clan mentality & invites other ills.
@Gomba13 @BillyMcWhirter I don't see kids spending time at school together to learn and bond as 'traditional'. That's just common sense.

@BillyMcWhirter Probably only a dozen hours per week at school serve that purpose. You can get those hours outside school, too -
@Gomba13@BillyMcWhirter I think this overlooks important developmental/behavioral aspects. Anyway, this thread is getting long. -
@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Why, when you can get access to such settings outside of school?

@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Not much of the time spent at school is spent socializing. Recess and team activities, mostly. -
@Gomba13@BillyMcWhirter Not at all! Seeing kids interacting with the teacher, working out problems, asking/answering questions, sharing... -
@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Reading, writing, calculating, drawing, doing exams are totally non social activities.

@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Would you say kids bonding at homeschooling association events for kids is traditional? -
@Gomba13@BillyMcWhirter Unless those homeschooling events are several hours a day each day, I'd say it was insufficient. -
@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter About two hours per day sounds right to me. It is realistic, and it is being practiced.
