@Gomba13 @BillyMcWhirter Yes, as they do from meditation, therapy, yoga, exercise and drugs. But none of those control science education.
@Gomba13 @BillyMcWhirter To me "non traditional" always sounds like people making a show of bucking the system, whether it's good or not.

@BillyMcWhirter How many problems were created by sticking with traditional ways, and how many fixed by non traditional ways? -
@Gomba13@BillyMcWhirter I don't see kids spending time at school together to learn and bond as 'traditional'. That's just common sense. -
@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Probably only a dozen hours per week at school serve that purpose. You can get those hours outside school, too -
@Gomba13@BillyMcWhirter I think this overlooks important developmental/behavioral aspects. Anyway, this thread is getting long. -
@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Why, when you can get access to such settings outside of school?

@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter E.g., sticking with traditional traffic is why we have so much pollution in cities. -
@Gomba13@BillyMcWhirter This isn't an apt metaphor. Communal schooling is pollutive?? -
@emlynaddison
@BillyMcWhirter Don't zoom into the pollution factor. Just consider that sticking with tradition is not always good.
