@naughtmai Maybe the book is more exciting but I found the movie slow, tame and sometimes poorly executed :(

@emlynaddison Opposite for me. I was expecting a silly Twilight-like violent soap for teens, but both Hunger Games movies have wide appeal.

@naughtmai At first I thought it was a "teen flick" then saw strong reviews and so I watched it. Nah, teen flick.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@emlynaddison The books are targeted at older teens/young adults, but it didn't, IMO, fall into typical American teen soapy/shallowness.

@naughtmai That's why I was so frustrated! It had really strong ideas and good acting but fell flat. For me.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@emlynaddison in the books, different aspects r emphasized. The games take weeks, for ex, & u know Catnis' internal mental state always.

@emlynaddison Yeah. My kids drug me to the first, but I willingly went to the second, lol, and then read the books it was so good.

@naughtmai So you liked the second one as well/better?

@emlynaddison Yeah, it's better, IMO. It gets higher ratings too, for what that's worth (tho the 1st got good ratings too).
