Saw the first Hunger Games. Never before has a movie with so much potential been scuttled by a studio bent on making a sequel to it.
@naughtmai No I haven't read the books. My quarrel is that they can make a LOTR, Star Wars or Bourne flick stand on its own. Not so here.

@emlynaddison The books also have cliff hanger like endings. Bourne1, yes. Lotr1? Disagree. it just ended, mid-stream, lol.
-
@naughtmai It just felt like one...giant...setup... Bourne etc were tied up neat & tidy as standalone movies. -
@emlynaddison Catching Fire ends like Matrix2, lol. It begs a sequel.
-
@naughtmai Hmm never saw that -
@emlynaddison Seems many trilogies have two parts, story 1 and then story 2 split into two movies. Matrix, Bourne, etc., are like this.
-
@naughtmai IMO they could have made this movie SERIOUSLY good AND tied it up neatly. Look at World War Z <-- that's how you do it. -
@emlynaddison That was a very good movie, can't figure y it got mediocre reviews. Can't wait for the next. Haven't read the books yet.
