    I am sure that no matter what, we will not return in times when entire ethnicity groups were labeled traitors and forced to leave their homes..at least not in the US.

    If open warfare begins between Iran and the U.S., please look out and stand up for your Iranian American neighbors and coworkers. Do not allow the passions of a nation at war to overspill as before and destroy the lives of innocent citizens and residents of our country.

    Exactly. Studying law helped me to understand such concepts as efficiency and reliability. There is no sealed road to success - the main point is to move forward, no matter if you studied history, math, law or physics.

    Every time a VC says - drop out of school - study math / CS - start your own company - take funding know that they are talking their own book. It may be sincere. It may be sound advice. But one thing that studying history taught this liberal arts major is to always examine bias.

    when Chechens were deported to Siberia in 1944, their houses and lands were given to other ethnicities -Russians, Jews, Ukranians etc. there is a legend that when Chechens returned in 1957 only Jews returned their property intact back to the owners. Oppresed people feel alike.

    I’ve been thinking about the Bret Stephens column for a few days and here’s the reason it bothers me most. In my experience, being part of a community targeted by bigots of any kind usually leads to two kinds of views on the world:
