    There is no universal hierarchy of the senses reflected in language. Our study with 20 languages and 5 senses found biology does not predict the importance of the senses. Culture does.

    Around 800 languages are spoken in NYC, including many endangered languages. For example, Seke has only 700 speakers in the world, 100 of them live in NYC, with 50 all living in this one building in Brooklyn.
