And yes, I know that the “research” is complete nonsense, but I find it interesting how the best case scenario , promoted by the most ardent proponents of , has been downgraded now that they don’t have a referendum to win

Absolutely amazing that have went two years where coarse & crude language apparently doesn’t matter but once freshman Palestinian-American congresswoman utters 1 expletive, all of a sudden it “should not stand” 🙄

This annoyed me so much that I decided to see if I knew my countries as well as I thought. Apart from not doing great on Africa, it went pretty well (white means got it 1st time, yellow took a few attempts, red not at all, green is not in UN). Try it at

I dont have a strong opinion on the name of the new Leisure Centre, but what Peter Robinson is doing is trying to stir fear & rage by equating neutral public venues with attacks on a specific identity. It is irresponsible, self-serving & I hope Belfast unionists dont fall for it

Just point to an easy one!!! You see the shape of USA on maps & graphics on the news almost every day - point to the country that looks like that shape and say "USA"

“Our voting system is not broken, and there is no need to fix it.” I’m happy for you that you feel this way but thousands of people in the North (and the south actually) disagree

Also they don’t even attempt to address the issue of the North in their rejection of this amendment- focused solely on Irish emigrants.

“Giving the diaspora a vote could mean that the people living here get a head of state chosen thanks to the votes of people who don’t, which would be a most unsatisfactory result.” Given the ceremonial role of the President, what problem would this cause?

949 Councillors in Ireland. Only 199 are women & 3 are from migrant backgrounds. We need more! Thank you to the amazing for the great write up & all for championing women & diversity.

Where most leaders would have went for a unifying well wish around this time, instead went for a divisive message of exclusion against ideologies she doesn’t agree with
