When I was briefed today about the development on the case I immediately instructed NDS to stop the proceedings. The protection of civil society and human rights defenders is the sole responsibility of the security forces.

Cases as such must be dealt and investigated by the attorney general’s office and the AIHRC. I have also instructed the Ministry of Education to provide thorough report from the areas of Logar where the alleged abuse took place. I expect the report sent to me ASAP.

I will convene the high council on rule of law and anti corruption on Thursday in ARG to review and discuss further steps in this regard.

Truly disturbed when NDS released the video of civil activists, forced confessions are illegal. These people should have been awarded vs detained, punished and humiliated.
