I agree 100%. In addition, as a senior developer I have to think about what others are learning from my behavior. If I overwork, more junior people might learn to see it as normal, and it's not the impact I want to have.https://twitter.com/leonadato/status/1209825560605712384 …

...(2/2); I'm not entirely sure I like the "peer to peer" model of GitHub sponsors - it would be good to see low stress ways of enabling the *companies* benefiting from OSS to feed support back into OSS, but: it is an interesting step.

Inspect.Heap/Stack/MemoryGraph and Jit ASM in SharpLab should be significantly (maybe 100x) faster now. Please let me know if you run into any issues.

SharpLab is down for 10 mins or so, seems like my build does not fail if UI assets fail to build :) On the bright side it's still accessible through WebSocket clients.

Switching SharpLab "Default" environment to .NET Core 3.

1. First language: Pascal 2. Had difficulties: PowerShell 3. Most used: C# or JavaScript or CSS 4. Totally hate: None really, though PowerShell has most quirks 5. Most loved: CSS, JavaScript 6. For beginners: JavaScript, or maybe TypeScripthttps://twitter.com/_developit/status/1180151225435742208 …

Was thinking of replacing custom FastJsonWriter in MirrorSharp (SharpLab's editing engine) with System.Text.Json, but seems my implementation is faster for some reason? E.g. here when writing numbers:pic.twitter.com/2PRaUWFNfH

Really happy with visual UI testing for SharpLab components — it's a bit slow, but ability to see how exactly the component has changed is great. I can even see it in a PR.pic.twitter.com/dFM4ZPzDE4

SharpLab now supports a Dark mode (including Auto mode based on your system preferences). Note that styling has known (and unknown?) issues — any feedback is appreciated.pic.twitter.com/XGfjSBlV1y

Solution for corporate OSS funding should be easy and consistent, without manual handling of every little library. As a very naive example, let's say your company transferred a monthly OSS fund to npm, and npm distributed it based on downloads or package stats from your company.

A thing I don't fully understand in OSS funding discussion is funding of developers _by developers_. It might be different for freelancers, but if I use OSS as an employee it saves money for my employer, not me. Shouldn't we encourage a model where _companies_ fund OSS they use?

For example, why 10.ToString() has allocations, but 1 and 9 don't? https://sharplab.io/#gist:8af3685e003412e19d5db0b92a12badc … It's because of this optimisation: https://github.com/dotnet/corefx/blob/b86783ef9525f22b0576278939264897464f9bbd/src/Common/src/CoreLib/System/Number.Formatting.cs#L270 …

Inspect.Allocations() -- see all heap allocations caused by your code (including the ones inside framework classes). That was a SharpLab holy grail for me for a while, and, finally, it works (even if unstable). https://sharplab.io/#gist:5dd52b497575ec1f24a46f6c9287e144 …pic.twitter.com/rsDO3rX58J

Uses .NET Core 3 preview because I needed AssemblyLoadContext.Unload (to unload code after jitting or running it).

Same — in my experience shared setup makes individual tests less clear. And people tend to add things only needed by a few tests, and then never remove, because it's unclear which parts are still needed.https://twitter.com/davidfowl/status/1113493208808382464 …
