I expect that as it's multi-platform, the beginning should have some sort of "getting you up to speed" thing. But tbh most of the previous games are generally story heavy at the start, then a bunch of fun and frollicks in Disney worlds, and then heavy story at the end,
That being said, speaking as someone who's played all of them, the story is convoluted as heck anyway. I think the gameplay (assuming it's along the lines of II and BBS) will be perfectly enjoyable without really understanding the "finer" points of the story.
