Considering they announced even more DLC at PAX East, I'd suggest holding off until the inevitable "Prestigious Royal Edition" or w/e that will come in late 2019/20 for the most complete package. Of the current ones: Gladiolus is a bit meh, Prompto is ok, Ignis is pretty solid.

Yeah I can understand that. :D The PC version does add a few more story tidbits besides the DLC, and also completely changed Insomnia at the end of the game. Was an enjoyable re-play in all honesty.
