I love awards for woman in games. I support the various movements that help woman gain awareness in the industry and are finally appreciated for the incredible work they do.
What I massively dislike is publicly voted for woman (and men) votes.

It very easily can be perceived as a popularity contest. Will the ones with the big followings, the most pre-existing awareness, the biggest social media presence win? I just think that it should be judged by an independent panel to remove any bias or popularity voting. Sorry!

It's a toughy, ain't it? It's similar to things like the whole 'follow friday' or 'appreciation days'. You'll forever have groups of people praised, but always have people on the sidelines feeling inadequate/unworthy.

I never ask for things or campaign for nominations, or votes, and as a result tend not to be included in anything. It's a chicken and egg situation, both options feel bad to me. I wouldn't campaign for people to nominate me, but it doesn't feel great either to be a ghost.
