I...cannot tell you how sickened I am. I worked for Blizzard just short of 10 years: I was one of the 800. I started in Tech in Irvine, moved into QA and then into training. I have multiple trans friends who worked there with me, some still do. I am...nine times furious.
I think Irvine in general has been a lot more progressive in this regard. It’s worth contextualising that at the time much of this happened, Ireland was a lot more conservative than it is now. The Cork office has come leaps and bounds in terms of LGBTQIA+ support since then.
