Subverted expectations - coming from the show that killed its 'main character' in the first season. Understandbly bitter, but nothing out of the ordinary for GoT
Largely for me it’s because the undead arc was the arc I was most interested in. The politics and maneuvering for the Iron Throne I grew bored of, so no longer have much interest in the outcome of who claims it. Means I have very little excitement for the season end. Kinda weird.

That's fair enough. To me, the human story is the story of the show, with the undead being an outside threat that would never see fruition but linger until the very end. There's 4 hours left of screentime, and whatever happens it's gunna be a great 4 hours
