The best thing to come out of Vista was the Aero UI. There, I said it.
Haha. I actually had a Vista PC for about 5 years, I never had any of the common problems with it. Unlike the ME PC I had before my XP laptop, that PC crashed all the time. 
Aero was really nice. I'm still not a massive fan of the current minimalist trend in UI design tbh.

Me neither. I really like the slick look of Aero and, to a certain extent, Royale. The flat mono-coloured look of Metro is a regression that is unfortunately seen everywhere - just look at almost any logo over the past decade.
