      A real shame hearing the news and reading disparaging tweets about #HMV. I've gone from one of their biggest critics to a huge fan. People saying they should have shut long ago are missing the big picture. Enjoy zero competition raising prices in your digital landscape, y'all.

      And for those chiming in with "Amazon is cheaper", not only is that false (HMV became aggressive in pricing after their first bout with administration) they also had a lower minimum spend for free shipping meaning I didn't have to tack on extra bits to my order.

      I could go on and on about how losing HMV is bad for the consumer at the end of the day, but by the looks of things on here folks are looking forward to less choice, higher prices and not actually owning anything. #ranttown

      Word. HMV was my 2nd retail job and we always had regulars asking us for our opinions on what to buy. Online just doesn’t provide that in the same way. I’m as guilty as anyone of relying on Amazon sometimes. But choice and competition only serve to benefit the consumer.
