I went last year and did the last day of Princess and Pirates. I LOVED it! It was just so much fun and gorgeous costumes. Even better was the guest atmosphere-people learned the whole dance routine and there was basically a huge dance party in the castle courtyard.

I also went back for several days a couple weeks later for Marvel. The main show itself was cool enough-when it worked, which unfortunately was rare. And the statues were badass. But overall the atmosphere was pretty limited.

Basically, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back during Princess and Pirates! But I wouldn’t bother with a special trip for Marvel. (But instead I’m doing an Asia trip to visit those parks for the first time.)

Pirates & Princesses is basically the season that shattered the European reservedness when it comes to audience participation. No-one quite knew what to think of it at the start, but by the end of the season everyone was dancing along to it, and many even bounded for it.
