My very first dream job was to be a dentist for dentists (it made sense in my head). I wanted revenge! Then I wanted to be a horse-caretaker (a stablehand basically, BUT FANCIER). Then I wanted to be prime minister and then a fiction translator. I now do IT-related stuff.

Haha, that's not too dissimilar to what happened to me... had all these weird and lofty dreams and ended up doing something a lot more down to earth.

I'm pretty happy that I'm none of the things I wanted to be when I was little. Translating stuff would still be fun, but the pay is usually miserable here and that was more of a teenage wish either way.

But the "dentist for dentists" thing was such an obsession of mine between the ages of 5 and 9. It's actually kind of creepy and unsettling to think back about how weirdly fixated I was on the idea.

Haha. It does raise the question though... what type of people become dentists for dentists? I wonder if they get home after having work done and judge the work the other dentist did.
