The US timeline for boosters.
You'd have to work really hard to mess this up this badly and engender this much confusion.

Here's the question - what's the drawback if J&J recepient takes mRNA shot? Are there any risks? Why not simply give them an option
Dr. Patel was on right when the announcement came through and said no mixing of different vaccines as of yet being approved...
Dont forget moderna(8 months out here).
It’s so frustrating. We have made the rational decision stray from guidelines for these people. Why shouldn’t all J&J folks walk into CVS tomorrow and get an mRNA shot as if it’s a primary dose? Who can blame them? Meanwhile there goes our situational awareness and credibility.
FWIW in my experience close to all J&J recipients intentionally chose that vaccine because of (probably unwarranted) fears about mRNA tech, so I’m not sure this helps.
Has there been a similar time where the decision making process is sooo public and under so much scrutiny? That I think it what puts so much pressure on the messaging, and why the messaging hasn't been up to the situation. There's a lot to be learned from this.
To me, the definition of EUA needs to be changed. It should be used for something that should work but lacks data. What we have now for EUA should be renamed to approval candidate as we already have safety and efficacy data.
That's already part of the definition. All the EUA vaccines (and even the Pfizer BLM) lack longterm data. The PhIII trials have a 2-year duration--we are nowhere near the end of that and EUAs have been issued...
It helps to think of J&J as the Rodney Dangerfield of Covid vaccines.
LOL, no that doesn’t help at all. It’s actually a rather disturbing metaphor…
