To create awareness about Senator Dick Durbin's hold on the Fairness bill, we need your help to hit the airwaves and get more people educated about Durbin’s anti-immigrant positions.

Today, I'm heartbroken. My Senator, mocked & made a joke at a town hall when a man opposing S.386 gave him a green index card & joked that if people like me wanted a green card, we should settle for that - while others laughed profusely and held up fake green cards

He did not say “this is not a laughing matter” and he did not say anything about why the existing green card system should not discriminate based on country of origin. Instead, he laughed at my expense and mocked my family’s misery.

So this is what , who is supposed to be a senior leader on immigration, really thinks about my family's decades long wait times. It appears my that discrimination based on national origin is just a joke and a laugh for #DisrespectfulDurbin

There are too many people who are unable to apply for green cards because of where they are born, trapping them in the H-1B visa program.
To stop corporations from abusing the H-1B program and lowering American wages, we need to make sure that immigrants can get green cards.

Passing this bill would allow those who are stuck on H-1B visas for decades such as . Chandan arrived in the U.S. back in 2007 on a H-1B visa with his family. In 2011, his green card application was approved but is #stillwaiting.

This week the House passed H.R. 1044, bipartisan legislation to make our visa system fairer for skilled immigrants legally working in the US by ending the decades-long backlog for employment-based green cards
We must value immigrants to the U.S. no matter where they are from

The House passed @RepKenBuck’s and my bipartisan bill to make our visa system fairer for skilled immigrants legally working in the US. #HR1044 has 200+ Dem and 100+ GOP cosponsors. If @POTUS is serious about merit-based legal immigration, he should help usher this bill into law.

Our immigration system unfairly disadvantages high-skilled immigrants from large countries. H.R. 1044 is an important bill that will level the playing field for high-skilled legal immigrants.
