First step in solving a problem is accepting that we have a problem. Mumbai's living conditions - air quality being a key representative of it, has deteriorated substantially in past 5 yrs. Fixing HAS TO happen at source. In this case - Road/Construction Dust & Diesel Vehicles.

Such a powerful message from Santosh who lost her husband Avdesh in a road crash. Road crash fatalities are not just numbers, countless victims and families are behind those total figures you see every year. These are not “accidents” — they’re preventable. #RoadSafetyWeek2023

After losing her husband in a speeding crash, Santosh had to work in a factory to take care of her two young daughters. She appeals to drivers to not speed. #RoadSafetyWeek2023 #SadakSurakshitDilliSurakshit #SlowDown @ashishkundra @kgahlot @TransportDelhi @DelhiGovDigital

224 pedestrians dead in 2022 in Bengaluru alone. Gone forever for crime of walking. 1,55,972 people dead in 2021 due to road accidents. 400 a day. If this is not a national crisis, I don’t know what is. A special session of Parliament and Assembly must be called to focus.

This. Exactly this. Air quality is about exposure. AQI averaged over the city, underestimates the impact of bad air. So much of the city population is vulnerable. Also remember - particle size is the same, but kids lungs and bronchus aren’t as developed. Imagine impact on kids.

Even, anecdotally, so many folk in town have been ill over the last month - personally, I've had a low-level cough for weeks that won't clear. It's grim and shouldn't be argued away with the 'Delhi is worse' line..

Delivery guy from got the package, asked OTP, fed in his phone, then says ‘abhi ek Aur aayega’, peeps into my phone, clicks the link for feedback, and before I can know he hits ‘happy’. What’s the point of this incentive system. Not to mention the privacy breach.

Wishing a very happy birthday to Sir A leader who is, and will go on to play perhaps the most extensive role in not just improving quality of life but also addressing longer term concerns of climate and environment.

This is clear, and as simple as it can get. Cities have to figure out a way to equitably distribute street space. And focus on moving people and not just automobiles.

Initiative with potential to transform the imagination of streets across the city - from ‘roads for cars’, to ‘streets for people’. It’s already like that, but the priority is skewed in favor of automobiles, and no one benefits here. So thank you
