Its honestly so fucking funny that this week, the best possible moment they've ever had to regain users with Twitter imploding, they choose to launch this. Online is bad for artists this year.

The form I linked above is actually just to remove your username/aliases from being used in prompts. To actually remove your artwork from being eligible for this, you need to go to edit each individual deviation and click this tiny box. I have 17 years of deviations on there...

"DeviantArt cannot guarantee that it will not appear in any third party datasets." So what does this actually even do?

Minor good news, they have now added an option in account settings>general to check the setting for all your deviations. At least now you dont have to tick the box on each one individually.

I flagged this with them as well. Apparently bulk edit deviations to opt out is coming.

They should not have pushed this out without having that available. They also should not have pushed it out at all

Stunned by their decision, and the timing of it. Glad to see you posting about it bc I was hoping some bigger artists like yourself would spread the word because this is beyond absurd. Their strategy person was framing it as a good move for artists in reply to me.
