This used to be a Borders. This is where I got the idea for Art of Manliness back in December 2007. Was standing in the magazine section when I got the idea. It was behind the wall right about where that awning is on the right. Hit publish on the first article in January 2008

Thinking about how when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, the slightly rich kids at your school had pool tables at their houses. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a pool table in a home.

Dads, if your kid is playing rec league sports and need a coach to volunteer for the team and you’ve got the bandwidth for it, go for it. Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience coaching. YouTube has lots of vids on drills for kids in all the sports.

You’ve likely seen Action Hank telling young Dexter that “It’s not the beard on the outside that counts, it’s the beard on the inside.” Well, Action Hank unwittingly made an argument that a monk named Abbot Burchard made way back in the 10th century 🧵
