I love the Clone Wars portrayal of Obi Wan and Anakin. The former is a deadpan snarker of the highest quality, and the latter actually sounds like the charismatic, awesome badass friend Obi Wan describes to Luke.

If anything, my biggest complaint about Clone Wars Anakin is that he's too balanced and doesn't seem like a guy hiding that he already did a genocide Rebels Ezra is well edgier than him

The kind of dark truth here is that Anakin doesn't feel *that* bad about the Sand People because most civilized people already don't think of cultures like the Sand People as fully people So it's bad but it's an excusable mistake

Also Droids. Despite pretty much all of them being self aware and sentient. No one feels anything about destroying or mind wiping them, or constructing them solely for labor. And the clones troopers too...

My headcanon is that the Republic probably does have a "Commission on Droid Rights" that publishes a whitepaper every twenty years or so about how anyone running an actual droid torture chamber like Jabba the Hutt does should have to pay a hefty fine

And this is one of the "oppressive regulations" that the CIS claim gave them no choice but to declare war

"We will now hear the rebuttal from the Droid Rights Commission" "Thank you. My opponent overlooks that many droids are programmed to cry out in distress when being crushed and melted, causing psychological discomfort for organic employees overseeing recycling"

"The chair recognizes Senator Amidala" "Thank you. My staff has heard both sides of the argument and we propose a humane yet pragmatic compromise: Require that each droid's central processor be smashed by a hammer or other blunt instrument before loading into the crusher"
