Long before the industrialized West invented the technology of the IV drip, there was an ancient holistic practice called "drinking water"

Drinking the water orally may seem odd to modern Americans but is cheaper, carries reduced risk of infection and is quite enjoyable

The I.V. station seems so anti-woo. Did they offer Cognitive Dissonance Drop-off locations? That would probably help.
-
Might be there to help them select for customers who will pay more for unnecessary steps and build psychological investment in process.

IVs also have electrolytes & get to the system sooner than water. Someone with a heavy fever or is vomiting can't always drink enough
-
Someone with a heavy fever or vomiting probably shouldn't hang out at a conference with lotsa people around? Just a thought... ;-)

IV rehydration works MUCH faster than drinking. I've had this discussion with emergency room nurses after I was given IV after passing out.
-
I mean yes but if you're not severely dehydrated there's no benefit to this
