ZZA added to the 1st couple letters of a name is a semi common (ish) nickname. Famous footballer Paul Gasgoine was GAZZA for instance.

they sound totally different in UK accents, it's just an American thing. We also wouldn't say jizzer. Spooger maybe. From spooge.

Adding "ez" or "ezza" to names is apparently a UK nicknaming quirk. My friend Cheryl got called "Chez" when she went to school over there.
