One concern: you don't really OWN ebooks. They can be removed from your device, as Amazon has done on occasion.

Doubt it'll happen anytime soon. Ebook sales have flatlined while physical book sales have increased.

As a technology, the codex has several advantages over ebooks that don't have parallels to AV media.
