Arthur Chu added,
The way you deal w soldiers whose loyalty you doubt is send them into suicide missions where they have to fight like hell just to survive
(The Brits had long experience w this strategy, like sending subjugated Scots-Irish soldiers abroad to fight brown people)
(Or sending Sikhs to put down the Boxer Rebellion - pit non-Christian PoC vs non-Christian PoC, win win)
Making our villains be Brits is a mean stereotype but to be fair, the British Empire was one of the most ruthlessly evil organizations ever
Anglo-American rivalry in the 19th c was basically Scotty Evil's fumbling desperate attempts to be as evil as Dr Evil
(Never forget that a huge portion of the wealth created by Southern slavery flowed directly to English upper class)
(And hence they really wanted to throw in for the Confederates but didn't bc it'd look bad with regular voters)
