Even taking out the rapeyness I really hate that the one nerd ends up with the jock's girlfriend as a victory trophy.

Because most of the other Nerds end up with nerd girls, not cheerleaders -- people they actually have shit in common with.

It's still a bit trophy-ish, I guess, but it's not so cynical and pander-y like the cheerleader subplot, which reeks of sniveling jealousy.
