This is old data. You are trying to contest fresh April 2021 data based on speculation. Now, I agree we need to take any data from the CCP with a huge grain of salt. But it’s all we have.

2020 is old data ??? You show me a peak performance for 1 hour and say it's better than 1 year of statistics ? Are you kidding me ? I am off here, you are clearly not debating of good faith here. Jerk.

There’s nothing to debate. We have fresh 2021 data and then we have your speculation based on 2020 data. Have a nice day!

Exactly. And soon we move to rainy season and Bitcoin will shift to becoming majority renewable for months. Because the cheapest energy will be renewable. And in the coming decades renewables will get cheaper and cheaper and cheaper globally. You do the math.

Do you understand that reopening a coal power plant to mine Bitcoin actively directly worsens climate change but reopening a hydro or solar power plant to mine Bitcoin does fuck-all to fix it

Renewable energy doesn't reverse climate change, at best it just *doesn't add* to it A 100% perfectly renewable Bitcoin mining grid has the exact same impact on humanity's carbon footprint as just not mining Bitcoin at all

Most don't understand this no. They really think higher share of renewables is a goal per se. This is so stupid. This is my whole point here :https://medium.com/crypto-lucid/even-running-100-on-renewables-bitcoin-would-still-be-a-disaster-df3e09c16595 …

Like saying "I spend too much money on booze and too little on charity, so I'm going to change absolutely nothing other than also donating $2,500 to charity every month *Now* charity is the single biggest piece of my spending pie chart! (And I'm rapidly going into debt!)"
